DLR and University of Bonn present results at the GEO Week in Cape Town
How Copernicus supports Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Africa will be presented and discussed in different formats at the yearly convention of the Groups on Earth Observation (GEO).
University of Bonn and DLR will contribute to a training workshop on EO solutions for the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) Initiative on Tuesday, 7 Nov., 4 to 6pm. In addition, a 5 minute video will be presented at the European booth in the Exhibition Hall. Short presentations will also be given at the European booth on 6 Nov., 3.40pm, and on 9 Nov., 1.35pm. It will be shown how Copernicus, and especially elements of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service, such as the Flood Awareness System (GloFAS) and the Drought Observatory (GDO), can be used by Disaster Managers in Africa and elsewhere. It will be highlighted that comprehensive training materials are being made available by the FPCUP action team.
