Workshop on “Monitoring remote sensing-based indicators in fast growing African cities”

Within the FPCUP Action 2019-2-11 “Downstream service/application development for monitoring of environmental indicators (Africa)”, a user uptake workshop was carried out on Tuesday, 25 April 2023.

During this online workshop, researchers from the Earth Observation Center (EOC) at DLR presented the application tool developed within the frame of FPCUP and the activities carried out within the project in African cities. The main objectives of the workshop were to:

• present remote sensing-based tools for applications in African cities,
• receive feedback and stimulating discussions between different user communities,
• attract news users to Copernicus products.

In a lively discussion 42 participants representing 33 institutions from 18 countries provided feedback on the presented application and exchanged on further challenges.
