Explorer Festival 2022 in Iceland

The Explorer Festival 2022, organized by Space Iceland from November 18–20, was a three-day celebration of space and Earth observation, with a focus on the Copernicus programme.

The event featured a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, expert presentations, movie screenings, and interactive sessions that engaged participants of all ages. NSII contributed to the festival with a presentation on the use of Copernicus data in Iceland, helping raise awareness of its applications in science, environment, and public services. The festival created a vibrant platform for dialogue.

It successfully highlighted the value of satellite data and space innovation in addressing real-world challenges. The event marked an important step in promoting space literacy and fostering interest in Earth observation across Iceland.
