This action targets the use of Copernicus data for a sustainable development of the maritime sector, focusing on Ports and Harbours, Aquaculture and Fisheries. The action will organise awareness and training events in Europe, Africa and South America.
The aim of this action is to settle a meaningful, concerted and scalable effort to build Copernicus related capacities among African Copernicus expert communities and actor networks to enable knowledge growth.
The proposed action aims to promote the use of Sentinel satellite data as well as freely available Copernicus information products in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Management (DRM) on the national and regional level in Africa.
This action will continue the work supporting Geo-Cradle’s Initiative Capacity Building activities to other regions of EC interest than the one’s covered under a former action.
The objective of the action was to identify remote sensing-based indicators to be used by researchers, public authorities, decision makers and other stakeholders for evaluating and monitoring the dynamics, locations and types of settlement development in fast growing African cities, as well as to attract new Copernicus users in the African context.
