The European State of the Climate 2025 Report
On 29 April 2026, the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) released the ‘European State of the Climate 2025 Report’. The Report indicates that Europe warmed twice as fast as the global average over the past 30 years, making it the fastest-warming continent on Earth.
This data visualisation, based on Copernicus Climate Change Service data, provides insights into warming trends across Europe. The fastest warming regions are observed in northern high latitudes, particularly the Arctic, as well as in central and eastern Europe. The Arctic region, shown in dark red, is the fastest-warming region on Earth, with temperatures increasing by around 0.75°C per decade since the mid-1990s. An area of cooling over the North Atlantic indicates a decreasing temperature trend, which has mitigated warming in Iceland since around 2011.
