HackVision events
The Institute of Geodesy and Cartography and Absiskey Poland organised a series of HackVision Hackathons, carried out as part of the Framework Partnership Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake (FPCUP) project.
As part of the project, a series of Hackhathons - HackVision - was organised between November 2022 and March 2023, during which teams made up of students and doctoral students aimed to create an idea for an application or a demo version of a solution that, by using satellite data, could support tasks carried out by public administration units. Hackathons were held in Gdansk, Krakow, Warsaw, Poznan, Zielona Gora, Rzeszow, Lublin and Szczecin.
During the interactive meetings with students, unique and interesting projects using Copernicus Programme data were created. Innovative discoveries in the fields of:
- traffic optimisation,
- monitoring of agricultural crops,
- energy consumption in urban infrastructure,
- monitoring of urban heat islands.
