Workshop on Space Technologies for Flood Management

The workshop organised by UN-SPIDER, DLR, GLOFAS and the University of Bonn/ZFL took place from 20 to 22 February 2023 at the UN-Campus in Bonn, Germany.

Almost 30 participants took part in the training workshop, of which many came from African countries like Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Mozambique, South Africa and Uganda. The trainings focused on the use of the Copernicus Global Flood Awareness System (GloFAS) for early warning as well as different methods for utilizing Copernicus satellite imagery for flood mapping. The hands-on trainings were supported by the team of the Sentinels-4-African-DRR action.
