Workshop on the use of remote sensing for irrigated areas

12 May 2022

Earth Observation | Copernicus

The workshop held in Montpellier (France) will be open to all (public and private). It will focus on the tools and operational indicators available and useful to stakeholders in order to carry out an objective and reproducible irrigation diagnosis of their territory, and to identify relevant adaptation strategies. It will provide an opportunity for actors in the field to share their experiences and needs and to exchange with research teams working in the field.

The workshop, designed in person, is organised around the products and communities of the CES Theia Irrigation and Soil Moisture at Very High Spatial Resolution and in partnership with INRAE (affiliated entity of CNRS) , the Montpellier Agro Institute and AFEID. As such, the UMR Cesbio, Tetis, G-eau and Emmah are associated with this event, which follows on from the workshop organised in Toulouse in 2018. Like the previous thematic workshops, this initiative is financially supported by the European FPCUP - Framework Programme Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake - dedicated to promoting the use of Sentinel data.
