Successful Completion of the 12th National Seminar on Snow

We combined our planned workshop activity in Finland with the largest national snow workshop activity in order to reach more diverse potential end-users and to disseminate our results from the FPCUP SNOWLOADS action. Our action was also highlighted and our logo was visible everywhere through the sponsorship of the seminar.

The seminar brought together about 50 in-person and online participants from various institutions, including the Arctic Centre, the University of Lapland, the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Finnish Environmental Institute. Presentations covered a wide range of topics, from applications and models to projects focusing on snow, ice and related Arctic issues.

The FPCUP SNOWLOADS session highlighted different aspects of the action, featuring an overview of Copernicus and FPCUP, insights into the research behind the Europe-wide snow load app, a live demonstration of this app and discussions on the pilot regions.
