Copernicus Sentinel 2-C delivers its first images!
Already on 13 September 2024, one week after its launch, the Copernicus Sentinel-2C satellite began delivering images of our planet.
One of its first images shows Lighthouse Reef, an atoll of the Belize Barrier Reef in the Caribbean Sea. Home to the Great Blue Hole, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lighthouse Reef is a popular destination for snorkeling and diving thanks to its crystal-clear water and diverse marine life.
With the addition of Sentinel-2C to the Copernicus Sentinel family, we are ensuring that Copernicus continues to deliver key data which serves the needs of the user community and supports a wide range of applications for years to come.
