Dealurile Homoroadelor, Romania
Dealurile Homoroadelor, located in central Romania, is a picturesque area of rolling hills rich in biodiversity. As a Natura 2000 site, it forms part of the European Union’s network of protected areas, aimed at preserving rare and threatened species and habitats. With a surface area of 367 squared kilometres, the region features a mosaic of forests, pastures, and lakes, supporting diverse flora and fauna. In particular, the site protects 48 species of birds, including eagles. Its Natura 2000 designation ensures sustainable land use while promoting conservation and environmental stewardship.
