Liepāja, Latvia
Liepāja is one of Latvia’s key port cities, located on the country’s southwestern coast along the Baltic Sea. Liepāja lies on the Curonian Lagoon, a large body of water separated from the open Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit, a narrow strip of land which extends along the coast. The city is often referred to as the "city where the wind is born" due to its breezy, maritime climate. Its sandy beaches, which stretch for several kilometres along the coast, make it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Additionally, the surrounding region features a mix of flatlands, dunes, pine forests, and the Liepāja Lake, a large freshwater lake located just north of the city, adding to the area’s natural beauty.
