Szia Hungary!
With the Hungarian EU Presidency beginning today, we have selected a scene from Hungary's most characteristic landscape, the Great Hungarian Plain.
This area is a low-lying sedimentary basin with topography dominated by fluvial landforms of low relief - a vast, flat area. This scene is a collection of landscapes typical for the region: on the eastern side, the Tisza River with its oxbows and wetlands, in the centre, the Hortobágy grassland, further west, a network of small and large agricultural parcels in Hajdúság, and on the western side, the city of Debrecen with Nagyerdő, its protected forest.
This scene is a Sentinel-2 Quarterly Mosaic, a product of all images between April 1 and June 30, 2023, with a true colour visualization and some contrast and brightness adjustment
