Observed on 7 June each year, World Food Safety Day highlights the importance of secure, resilient food systems, from farm production to supply chains, and the careful management of agricultural land.

This multitemporal Copernicus Sentinel-2 image shows the cultivated plain around the city of Alexandreia, in northern Greece. The image combines data acquired on 12 January, 3 March, and 27 May 2026, and reveals seasonal change across a dense patchwork of fields within the fertile lowlands of Central Macedonia. Each colour represents a different stage in the crop cycle.

Copernicus Sentinel-2 data support crop condition monitoring, irrigation planning, and land management, helping to strengthen agricultural resilience and food safety.
