The Action "BENELUX Copernicus Day" aims to organize of three cross-border Copernicus Days, under a perennial label AI4Copernicus for the years 2022 to 2024.
The aim of this action is to settle a meaningful, concerted and scalable effort to build Copernicus related capacities among African Copernicus expert communities and actor networks to enable knowledge growth.
Organize dedicated demonstrations/sessions at relevant conferences on Earth Observation and Geospatial information.
In this action, we want to continue and extend this survey mechanism, with a focus on user requirements for new products/services, not on usability of existing products (i.e. a different survey topic). As a result, we expect to document how the Copernicus services and Sentinel products need to be adapted for Belgian users.
Organize information meetings and application trainings for farmers, agriculture industry (associations) as part of an Agricultural Thematic Cluster for Belgium.
The action aimed at the joint organization of a cross-border working Day on Copernicus to strengthen the Copernicus programme use and the collaborations between the Walloon Region of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Promote the use of COPERNICUS to public and scientific events with adequate diffusion and promotion materials and valorise current research projects and prototypes using Sentinel and Contributing Missions data.
Organize an advanced training session on Copernicus Sentinel-1 SAR data in collaboration with the Spatial Centre of the University of Liège (CSL) and Fabspace 2.0. This session will be open to national and international EO researchers, PhD and master students.
This action aims at perpetuating and further developing the GTEO in the following years which could become the privileged interface for stakeholders from all horizons to discuss the Walloon EO strategies.
