The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, USA
On 26 March 2024, the container ship MV Dali struck a pier of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the Port of Baltimore, USA, causing the bridge to collapse. Six people are presumed dead after the incident. The mayor of Baltimore issued a State of Emergency in response to the collapse, which has affected passenger and cargo shipping to the port. Response teams have since worked tirelessly to clear debris and restore connectivity.
