Dublin, one of Europe’s greenest cities
This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 4 September 2023, shows Dublin, the city capital of Ireland.
Dublin is one of the greenest cities in Europe. It is home to Phoenix Park, the largest enclosed park in a European city. Along its scenic coastline are two Natura 2000 sites, North Bull Island, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and the South Dublin Bay and River Tolka Estuary, an important habitat for several bird species.
The data provided by the Copernicus Sentinel satellites and services make it possible to extract important information on the state of implementation of European policies, including those relating to cities and their development.
