Location: Italy

The current high-pressure system over southern Europe has caused air quality to deteriorate in Italy.

In the Po Valley, pollution levels are worrying and have exceeded normative thresholds. As shown in this visualisation based on data  from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, PM10 exceeded 100 μg/m3 in many areas of the Po Valley on 18 February 2024.

The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service provides forecasts of a number of key air quality indicators including aerosol, particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide. More information can be found here.
