Sevilla, becomes the EU Space capital for one week

The city of Seville, located in Spain’s southern region of Andalucía, is a vibrant city with splendid monuments, colorful streets, and a rich cultural heritage. The city, which seamlessly blends the old and the new, is renowned for its stunning landmarks, including the majestic Sevilla Cathedral, the largest gothic cathedral in the world, and the iconic Giralda Tower. Sevilla will be the EU Space Capital for a week and host an informal meeting of the EU ministers responsible for space and the 2023EU Space Week. More information about the event is available here.

This image acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 23 September 2023 shows this Andalusian city. The Guadalquivir River crosses the town center and the meandering streets of the central old town contrast with the more modern areas of the surroundings.
