Copernicus for the Smart Cities sector in Portugal
On May 26th 2023, the Portuguese Space Agency together with the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) hosted the "Copernicus for the Smart Cities sector in Portugal", a face-to-face event to raise awareness of the potentialities of the European Earth Observation Programme Copernicus to address the challenges of the entities and municipalities working towards Smart Cities in Portugal.
Organized in the frame of the umbrella-action “Copernicus Events for Business Innovation in Portugal”, this event promoted interaction between local authorities and private sector entities, providing also hands-on demonstrations to the participating entities with specific use-cases on the use of Copernicus data and services.
Multiple public and private entities of this sector in Portugal were present and were invited to express their needs or showcase their solutions and engage in a match-making session to discuss gaps and opportunities.
