Copernicus Week in French Guiana

In the context of their action "Copernicus in French Guiana", CNES is organizing several workshops, conferences and training sessions. The aim of these events is to raise awareness of the benefits of Earth Observation in general and of Copernicus products in particular, in answer to French Guiana needs.

The week will take place from 18 to 22 of October 2021 in French Guiana. The workshops will address 8 different topics, linked to local needs and concerns. The conferences will target the general public and will focus on awareness raising. The training sessions and master classes will help professionals with the usage of Copernicus products and Earth Observation tools. At last, the presentation of research projects intends to raise knowledge amongst experts working in the field.

In addition to awareness-raising, this week, and in particular the many workshops, will help to define an action plan to meet the needs of scientists, professionals and local authorities, in conjunction with other initiatives, such as the SEAS (Pléiades) receiving station.
