The Framework Partnership Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake (FPCUP) is dedicated to increasing the number of Copernicus users and the uptake of Copernicus data and services worldwide. It supports four types of activities to help users leverage Copernicus:
- Hosting national and multi-national workshops, information days, and other types of awareness-raising and training events
- Building active dialogue related to Copernicus
- Developing and piloting applications and services
- Promoting national and cross-border innovative actions
Co-financed by the European Commission, FPCUP is coordinated by the German Aerospace Center (DLR Space Agency). Its consortium includes 50 partners from 23 European countries, representing a wide range of expertise. After seven years and over 220 actions, FPCUP is coming to and end in December 2025.
FPCUP Actions
How to produce climate projections or adaptation studies in cities that consider the variety of architecture in the world?
Conduct climate risk assessments and develop effective adaptation strategies using CLIMADA’s Copernicus Seasonal Forecast Tools to process seasonal forecast datasets.
Results of the Europewide agrometeorological simulations are now accessible as maps and time series through a DWD web portal.
The aim of this action was to launch 4 business challenges per year where a sponsor expresses a challenge to be solved by the use of space data, and especially Copernicus based products
This action has provided the incorporation of Copernicus modules into a one-year qualifying training for professionals in the digital sector to train them as "Geomaticians" (adequate for a master’s degrees and more).
The action is part of a spearhead project of the Finnish government’s initiative “Digitalisation of Public Services”.
