At 9 October, during the European Environment Agency's country visit to Italy, an agreement was signed between ISPRA and the European Environment Agency for a period of 18 months to promote cooperation between the country and the Agency within the framework of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) and to define its modalities.
The main objectives of the NCP are to:
- Ensure the involvement of the countries in the evolution of the CLMS
- Collect user requirements at national and subnational levels, involving not only public authorities but also, to the extent possible, the research community and private sector in the country. The National Copernicus Forum, the national Copernicus Academy and Relays, and other relevant, national-level fora can also be involved
- Validate the quality and fit for purpose of CLMS products
- Increase the uptake of the CLMS by national authorities through Eionet and the Copernicus User Forum (CUF) on a voluntary basis
