Antarctica’s Ozone Hole, unusually large for this time of the year

The Antarctic Ozone Hole (AOH) is an atmospheric phenomenon that occurs in early austral spring and typically lasts until the end of November, but according to the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), it has followed an unusual pattern in 2023.
The AOH has appeared several days earlier than usual and is taking an unusually long time to close. This data visualisation, based on CAMS data, shows that the area of the Antarctic ozone hole at the end of November 2023 was larger than in previous years.
