Caldas Novas State Park protects Cerrado biodiversity in Brazil
Caldas Novas State Park is located in the Brazilian state of Goiás, near the city of Caldas Novas. The park lies within the Cerrado, a tropical savannah region known for its high biodiversity and distinctive seasonal vegetation patterns.
This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 30 June 2026, features the state park immediately west of Caldas Novas. The dark green area shows the protected landscape, while surrounding agricultural fields, urban areas, and the waters of Corumbá Lake are also visible.
Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery provides detailed observations of land cover, vegetation, inland waters, and urban expansion. These data support the monitoring of protected areas, contribute to environmental assessment, and help inform sustainable land management.
