Service

Public Regulated Service (PRS)

The Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS) is a robust, encrypted navigation service for the European Union and partner countries’ government-authorised users. It is intended for security and defence applications. PRS goes significantly above and beyond the Galileo Open Service, providing authorised users with a better continuity of service when access to other navigation services may be degraded. It also increases the likelihood of continuous Signal-In-Space (SIS) availability in the presence of malicious interference.

These improved protection and resilience measures make Galileo PRS signals highly resistant to attacks, particularly in the form of spoofing and jamming.
